FAQs

How is this different from asking ChatGPT or Claude?

ChatGPT and other LLMs gives you articulate but flat and sycophantic responses, and also tell you what users will say, not what they do i.e. the gap between stated preferences and revealed preferences is never closed because LLMs have to give you internally coherent responses. Acid Test simulates how real consumers actually process stimuli: where they tune out, what they misread, what they ignore, what sticks emotionally even when they can't recall the claim. You get segment-specific disagreement, apathy, and interpretation & misinterpretation.

How is this different from other synthetic research tools?

Acid test uses unique technology and original research so our Synthetic Respondents simulate real human cognition and differences and don't give you the average opinion of what is already available from training data that other LLMs and synthetic research tools provide. We do free trials so you can really see the difference for yourself.

How is this different from Kantar or Nielsen?

Traditional creative testing takes 2-6 weeks and costs $5-100K per ad set or campaign. Acid Test scores creative in under 10 minutes, diagnoses why it's working or failing at the element level, and generates a revised version you can re-test immediately. Same diagnostic depth, two orders of magnitude faster and cheaper.

How accurate is it?

Our models are 85–95% accurate in predicting winning ads, based on evaluation and validation tests run with design partners and users.

What data do you use for simulations and persona generation?

Every respondent is anchored in what people actually buy, and not what they say they'd buy in a survey. We developed our own data sets to build our models. We also supplement our data with purchase data from a licensed consumer panels, US Census and BLS demographic, behavioral data, and other propietary data and research we commissioned.

What can I test?

For now we have images only, we will add video testing soon. At the moment you can test brand and performance ads for social media, blogs, OOH, print, and direct mail. You can also test concepts, claims, messages, and positioning statements, and landing pages.

How long does a test take?

Under 10 minutes from upload to scored results.

Can I bring my own personas?

Yes, you can upload your own personas by uploading a PDF, docx, or XLSX file.

Is my creative private?

Yes. All uploads are encrypted, never used to train models, and never shown to other accounts. You can delete assets and your whole accuont anytime.
